Creating Checkout Templates

The Save Template button in the Checkout Builder lets you save a checkout you have already built as a reusable template. You can apply the same design and layout to a new checkout page on another store instead of rebuilding it from scratch.

Save a Checkout as a Template

Follow these steps to save an existing checkout as a template you can reuse on other stores.

  1. Click Stores in the left navigation bar.

  2. Select the store that has the checkout you want to use as a template.

  3. Click the Checkout tab.

  4. Find the checkout you want to use as a template and click the Edit icon in the Actions column.

  5. Click Save Template in the Checkout Builder.

  6. Fill out the Name, Page Type, and Language fields as needed.

  7. Click Add Template to save the template.

    Info

The Page Type field controls who can use the template later: Global - Platform Use makes it available platform-wide, while Private - Client Use limits it to your client's account.

Apply a Saved Template to a New Checkout

Use these steps to create a new checkout page on another store using the template you saved.

  1. Click Stores in the left navigation bar.

  2. Select the store where you want to apply the template.

  3. Click the Checkout tab.

  4. Click Add Page.

  5. Complete the Name, Page Type, and Checkout Type fields.

  6. Select the template you saved under Template.

  7. Add any tags for the page in the Tags field.

  8. Click Add to create the page using the selected template.

    Info

The Template field stays disabled, showing "Page Type selection required," until you select a Page Type.

Publish the New Page

Publish the new page to make it available to customers. Until then, it remains saved as a Draft.

  1. Click the Edit icon for the new checkout page to open it in the Checkout Builder.

  2. Click Publish to make the page available.
