How to Set Payment Routing at the Store Level
Payment Routing controls how Phoenix distributes direct sale transactions and subscription rebills across the payment gateways connected to your store. Configuring routing lets you balance transaction volume across multiple MIDs and manage how subscribers are billed over time.
Open Payment Routing
Use these steps to open the Payment Routing page for your store.
-
Click Stores in the left navigation bar.
-
Select the store you want to configure.
-
Click the Payment Routing tab within the store.
InfoIf your store is set to Billing Profile Routing instead, a button opens the Billing Profile so you can configure routing there.
Configure Payment Routing
Follow these steps to configure routing for each gateway connected to your store.
-
Scroll down to find the Payment Routing table.
-
Enter the percentage of direct sale transactions to route to each gateway in the Direct Sale % column. Percentages across all gateways in this column must total
100%. -
Select or clear the checkbox in the Pin Subscribers column for each gateway:
-
Selected: subscribers who complete their initial direct sale on this gateway always rebill through the same gateway.
-
Cleared: subscription rebills for that gateway follow the percentages set in the Subscription % column instead.
-
-
Enter the percentage of unpinned subscription rebills to route to each gateway in the Subscription % column. Percentages across all gateways in this column must total
100%. -
Click Apply Filter to save your changes. Apply Filter functions as the save button for this table, so you must click it after making any routing changes.
WarningWhenever you make a significant increase or decrease to a routing percentage, click Reset Processor Count, located next to Apply Filter at the bottom of the table. Otherwise, Phoenix tries to immediately compensate for the new percentages, which can temporarily concentrate transactions on a single gateway (for example, when changing a gateway's routing from
10%to90%).
